Conflicting Shortcuts: Tabs and Multiple Desktops

hi i'm a nub!

Something that I can't seem to figure out is how to switch tabs using the keyboard in proggies I'm running (Firefox tabs, gaim IM tabs, etc) using ctrl+tab. Ctrl+tab switches amongst the four desktops I have and alt+tab switches between the various programs on each desktop. Ctrl+pagedown and pageup does switch between tabs but I was wondering if there's anyway to prevent ctrl+tab from switching between desktops so I can use it normally.

running fedoracore 4 w/kde, if that matters...thanks for putting up with me

With KDE, open the control center -> regional & accesibility -> keyboard shortcuts -> global shortcuts -> system -> navigation. Now just re-assign the shortcut to a different set of keys, or delete it.
