Configuring XFree86 to Use Gatos driver for ATI

I have searched through the forums and finally succeeded in getting the Gatos driver to compile and install. I then issued a modprobe gatosdrm (which is what I called the driver). Now, when I do an lsmod, it shows up as unused. The default radeon driver is still present and being used. How do I correct this?

Distro Info:
Fedora Core 1
Gnome

Since posting my previous message, I have tried editing the XFree86 Config file to specify gatosdrm for my driver. However, X then fails to start. It claims it can't find the driver. I have copied the gatosdrm.o file into every directory that the radeon driver was in. Additionally, lsmod shows gatosdrm as being loaded. Why can't X find it?
