Please suggest how to setup the network to connect internet using broadband cable modem. Also my linux system is not detecting the network card. Please advise.

Hi senab, can you please tell what distribution are u using? Also, how do you know the card wasn't detected? try typing:
dmesg | grep eth
on a terminal.

Hi gbonvehi, Thanks for the reply. The distribution is Red Hat Linux release 9, kernel 2.4.20-8. Also dmesg | grep eth is showing nothing.. I mean no entries for eth. At the time of login also no msg is coming. Pls advise.

Try using a newer distro....I found it was hard to get most of my hardware to work under RH9. If you wanna use Red Hat use Fedora Core 2. Or else you could consider Mandrake or SUSE.
