Configuring Netnanny:
Hi, I have two questions.
1)How to configure Netnanny in Linux Mint for safe surfing by children under age 12? 2)how effective it is? Thanks. |
Welcome to LQ
AFAIK netnanny is for windows. |
Hi Ighamid,
Repo is correct in saying that Net Nanny is only for Windows. Click on "Net Nanny" on their own Web site -- http://www.netnanny.com/competition -- to confirm. Consider trying DansGuardian -- http://dansguardian.org/. Although I don't know it personally, it is suggested Linux software on a variety of threads. It's been around since 2001 and it's free for non-commercial use. |
Thanks to both of you, Pete and Rope. I have downloaded DansGaurdian and will try to install. I'd appreciate help in installation of the software on single desktop.
Thank you once again. Kind regards |
Also most routers these days have website blockers for sensitive material.
It can add to the lock down on your system. I think I might use it on mine for my wife and facebook!!! :) |
