Configuring Netnanny:

Hi, I have two questions.
1)How to configure Netnanny in Linux Mint for safe surfing by children under age 12?
2)how effective it is?
Thanks.

Hi Ighamid,

Repo is correct in saying that Net Nanny is only for Windows. Click on "Net Nanny" on their own Web site -- http://www.netnanny.com/competition -- to confirm. Consider trying DansGuardian -- http://dansguardian.org/. Although I don't know it personally, it is suggested Linux software on a variety of threads. It's been around since 2001 and it's free for non-commercial use.

Thanks to both of you, Pete and Rope. I have downloaded DansGaurdian and will try to install. I'd appreciate help in installation of the software on single desktop.
Thank you once again.
Kind regards

Also most routers these days have website blockers for sensitive material.

It can add to the lock down on your system.

I think I might use it on mine for my wife and facebook!!! :)
