what does LDAP have to do with DNS records???
If you're looking at storing DNS records in LDAP then you firstly need to appreciate that LDAP is a *GENERIC* directory. It doesn't DO anything specific by default, it just stores arbitrary information in a certain structure. what that information is, and how you use it, is of no interest to LDAP whatsoever. LDAP would never have any awareness of it storing DNS data, IF that's what you mean. This is exactly like an SQL database. You don't expect an Oracle server to know what data is in it's tables do you? It's up to the applications that use the data to make sense of it.
