configuring internet in CentOS
I have installed CentOS in multi-boot set up.when i am trying internet thru win7,its working fine but when i am tryin to connect using CentOs,its not working.I have tried and changed the mac address to the one that is on windows(this worked fine with ubuntu) but the issue remains in CentOS.
plz help! |
Have you "shared" the connection in win7?
Have you setup a gateway in CentOS to point to win7 machine ip? That should be all! I do this all the time. Create connection in windows, share connection with all users, in network setup of linux set the gateway to ip address of windows machine. That should work! |

I guess your reference to win7 is just to let us know that the network hardware is ok.
Have you read and followed the networking documentation on the centos site? http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/De...rk-config.html Evo2. |

Are you using wired or wireless? If wireless are you using encryption: if so what type? What is the hardware: ie output of lspci? Are you using static or dhcp? What is the ouput of "ifconfig eth0" (assuming eth0 is the device)? And "iwconfig eth0" if wireless. What version of centos are you using? Cheers, Evo2. |
