Configuring DNS Server


Hi All,

Am new to linux environment. I would like to learn & planned to configure DNS server. I dont have public IP & Domain Name. I have two machines i have to use local machine & local name. Can any one guide me to configure local DNS server.

hmm well this is a simple how_to to configure a DNS server.

Note that if you want to run an authoratative DNS server, you will need to have a static, permanent IP address. If, however, you just want a caching-only name server that can resolve names for other machines on your local network, this is not needed.
