Configuring a linux machine as a webserver

Hi all i am a beginner to linux.i would like to configure my linux machine(CENTOS) as a webserver..I am using the PC(Centos machine)at Home with a broadband connection of 256kbps..How can i create a web page and also launch the website in internet..Please let me know the requirements for establishing this..

1 install apache or another webserver
2 get a domainname
3 point the DNS from your domain to your IP

all this if you have a fixed IP

if you have a dynamic IP:
make sure port 80 is not blocked by your provider
use dyndns (
