Configuring a CanoScan LiDE 90
I have troubles configuring my Scanner, I checked XSane and it's not supported and Canon doesn't have dravers for linux, someone toldme about "Generic" drivers, but I don't know how or where to get them, so, any help would be appreciated

Maybe no help

If the Lide 90 is a cousin of the Lide 80, it may have no support. Scanners are a weak point in linux, and Canon is very closed about information on its products. You could try to install it under WINE if your system has the capability of handling that combination.

You can often buy a HP 5200c or another well functioning scanner for not much money.

you think It could work with the same driver as the LiDE80? what are the requirements to run it through wine?

Making it work

I didn't mean that you should use the Lide 80 driver software instead of the Lide 90. As far as I know neither works under linux. If you install WINE, you might install the Canon windows driver. WINE does not work equally well for all devices, and may require a stronger processor and more RAM. There are howtos for WINE. Here is the project site.

Ubuntu might have WINE configured for it through its repositories.
