./configure: Permission denied

Hi All

I got the following error

when I run ./configure --prefix=/mysql/mysql-3.22.32/
I get ./configure: Permission denied

So I checked to see if the sh file exists and it does
ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh
ln: cannot create /bin/sh: File exists

Then when I ran the following I got
/bin/bash ./configure
I didn't find the script './scripts/mysql_install_db'.
Please execute this script in the mysql distribution directory!

Any ideas?
