configure,make,make install


none of these commands work for me in the terminal shell as root user. it say no file or directory for the ./configure, and no command for the make , and make install. any suggestions? thanks.

Quick question. Are you using SuSE Personal or Pro? Pro comes with the development tools such as compilers and make/gmake.

2nd, In the directory that you are running these, is there indeed a configure file?

If so, you probably need to execute ./configure since the dir you are in is not part of your path.

Then if that works, you can run make and then make install.

on suse see in yast2 installed programmes if you have development installed
