configure kmail

I followed the instructions but I cannot send mail, I get "The server did not accept the sender address. The server responded: "Invalid extension (King)"
The details are - Name godfrey.king Host smtp.ntlworld.com Port 25
I receive mail ok
Any ideas?

Use smtp.ntlworld.com in both name and host fields and port 25. I use ntl as well and that is the way mine is setup.

I'm as new as the next newbie but it looks to me as if the server is confused by that DOT. What happens if you use the name GodfreyKing?

My KMail sends but when I click to check mail I get "could not connect to host". It worked the other 5 times I installed MDK 9.2.

It would be great also if you could let us know how you fixed it, that way it's here for anyone else that has the same problem

I changed Sending to name-my name, type- smtp default, Receiving-name, my name, type-pop, folder-inbox. I had my sign in name and it wanted my full name. I've got stuff to work on Linux that I can't reproduce so I'm hesitant to tell anyone else. I don't know how I did it but it works kind of deal!
