Configure Iceweasel internet settings

I'm new to Linux and successfully installed Debian Linux Squeeze from the CD sets. I was able to connect Iceweasel to the internet on my Dell laptop with a Cat5 cable plugged into the back of my ATT router but the wireless connection fails. I've researched the terminology on the Network Connections GUI but I must not have the correct data entered. Can someone guide me through this wireless gauntlet?

Most likely the wireless driver you need is in the non-free repos
When enabled they'll be available in the Synaptic Package Manager
If you haven't done so already you'll have to edit your /etc/apt/sources.list & add
contrib non-free to the end off the lines.
example:
Quote:

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main non-free contrib
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main non-free contrib

deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free
