./configure: how can I force PATH?

hi you there!

installing from binary, sometimes happens that ./configure can find a lib or somewhat that is present but maybe not in the place where it search it... there's a way to "pass" to ./configure command a temporary PATH to the lib it's searching for... I read the configure --help but seems that it can't help me... some of you can?

Hi

In general it should be possible to do something like:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/lib ./configure <more options>

Please give's an example of what you're looking for?
Because if you do this the executable you built will also
never run without the LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/lib
prepended ...

Cheers,
Tink
