Configure grub (dual boot) with 2 OP installed already
Hello,
I just installed FC2 on a 2nd HD to my system(originally with XP). In the installation, I was confused on choosing the right HD, so I disconnected the HD with XP an ran installation again. I know(now) that grub can manage the dual boot, but I didnt set it up on installation. I've been searching for a way to set grub after having both OP installed already, but i cant find ANYthing. I can use XP by disconnecting HD with FC2 and around, but I dont think this is very healthy for my computer.
Running a
P4 2.6, 512 DDR 400,
HD 1 - SATA with win XP
HD 2 - IDE with FC2
If I have to reinstall FC2, how can I choose the right HD, the process was confiusing
thanks!

If you can get into Fedora:
just modify your grub.conf file. Probably in /etc/grub.conf
add the following lines:
#this is the XP entry
title = WindowsXP
chainloader = (hd0,0)+1
where (hd0,0) is which drive and partition windows is on. If its the first drive and first partition, its 0,0
See if that gets you the option...
EDIT: You must do this as root

I added:
#this is the XP entry
title = WindowsXP
chainloader = (hd1,0)+1
on winXP boot, computer displays: "Booting Windows XP..." (or alike), and then it hangs, with no error or anything
