Configure Apache

I'm not sure if I can ask apache questions here. If it is not the best place, please, point me.

I'm trying to secure my Apache server like this:

- Every user from 10.0.0 will be allowed without asking any password.
- Any other will be asked to enter a password and I want this username/password to be validated against the users in the system.

Is it possible?

Yes, just set up Basic auth as you would normally do but add the lines:
allow from 10.0.0
satisfy any

Not sure, but I would guess this is not only possible but easy. Just read through the apache man page, by typing (at the comand prompt)

man apache

read through that for authentication settings, etc...

Good luck!
