conexant accessrunner USB on AMD64
i have an etec ADSL modem (conexant access runner) and used to use Mandrake 9.1 and had it working (after alot of stress, mind you)
i recently installed Mandrake 10.0 AMD64 RC1 and tried to compile the latest version of the driver, but guess what......it gets errors...a lod of linux geek speak saying somethign about x86_64 and how it doesn't like it... i was just wondering if anyone has been able to to get a USB accessrunner to run under 64-bit mandrake?? im not really any good with linux...i know the basics....how to compile software, its just when things go a little wrong i need help |
The driver you are trying to complie might only work in 32bit mode. Mandrake should have 32bit emulation packages so that you may complie your drivers.
You might also post the last 10 or 15 line of the error so that other might be able to see what errors are occuring. |
i ve got conexant pci in my box, the driver doesnt wanna compile because of x86_64 arch,it says
ld: Relocatable linking with relocations from format elf32-i386 (/home/110101/inn/Conexant_ADSL/KernelModule/dpcontroller.o.new) to format elf64-x86-64 (/home/110101/inn/Conexant_ADSL/KernelModule/CnxADSL.o) is not supported i ve got slamd64 (slackware) , 2.6.12 kernel, . with some 32bit emulation stuff in it but how to use the emulation? |
ok , so there is nothing so far ;(
32bit driver doesnt fit in my 64bit kernel ;, and i wont swich to mdk, thanx°°) i ll try to find where did i get that driver and email the geazer) (coz only one tarball off some 5 was saying something not to bad, others just basicaly pissed me off on ./configure , but that one just coundt make the final 64bit .out /°: |
