Compressing a very big folder
 
hai
i had a folder of 75 MB.i m going to remove some of the folders from my system.before that i m attaching all my files 2 mail.I have a folder of 75 MB.i don't want to copy to a CD r stick.i used tar to compress.but i can't attach 2 mail bcoz neither gmail nor yahoo allows 2 attach more than 10 MB.

how can i do that?

If you are running your own website by any chance, you can upload the file to your server and it will be accessible for download from your server.

You could use a free file host, like rapidshare.com or sendspace.com, both allow files over 75mb. Keep in mind that there may be limits on how long the file stays up without being downloaded.
