Question compress command does not work

hi all,

From the man pages of Fedora 10 Linux, i found that "compress" command uses the LZ algorithm and compresses the input file to a great extent. I tried it with a sample file.

I am using bash shell.I got an error message from bash which is as follows:

bash: compress: command not found

Can some one help me out in using the compress command.

Thank you

hai all,

I figured it out my self. Compress package was not installed on my system.
I tried to locate compress on my system using "locate" command. But it was not present.I installed the rpm for ncompress and it did it all for me.

Thank you very much
