The command line is not impossible, it is new to people from the windows world.(I'm relatively new to it as well... )
I suggest that you also try out a little command line batch files in DOS on windows - you need to type in commands ever so often - just that these linux commands have different names - that is the biggest difference. Google for "JS UIX" - it is a bit helpful.
Also, "cygwin" or "unix utils" for practice in free time, on windows itself.
Of course, nothing can substitute real linux commandline practice. As they say, the fact that a problem is being solved in a particular way does not mean it is the best solution ever. However, some things do not change.
