compiling 32 bit kernel on 64 bit machine

I am new to linux and do not know much about it. For some work i need to rebuild my kernel. I am using kubuntu 9.04 on both my 64 bit and 32 bit machines. I have only a 8 Gb compact flash card on my 32 bit system. I tried to compile my kernel on that 32 bit machine but ran out of disk space. So i need to compile a customized 32 bit kernel on my 64 bit machine and then copy to the 32 bit system.

Can any one help me?

Can't you compile it within virtualbox?
Btw I doubt merely copying kernel from one machine to another will work.

Use the "linux32" command ... such as:

# linux32 make
This should work for ya...

Copying the kernel will work; but you need to copy the 32bit modules as well. Though since your newer to linux, this could be cumbersome.
