Compile Kernel with SMP

I'm looking to compile my kernel with SMP. I currently have Ubuntu installed, but only the 64 generic kernel (2.6.10-5). I've put in the linux-headers with synaptic for 2.6.11-1-amd64-k8-SMP. How do I install the new kernel though?

I don't know about kunbuntu, but you could simply download your kernel from and to compile this one by hand.
