compile it++ source code

Hi, a nexbie on linux- i have it++ and g++ installed on Ubuntu release 11.10, but i cannot compile my source code when i issue this command: g++ 'itpp-config --cflags' -o test1 test1.cpp 'itpp-config --libs' as directed by the ( I have also added(export LD_LIBRARY_PATH =" /usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH") this to the .bashrc environment.

The errors i received after issuing the command are:

g++: error: itpp-config --cflags: No such file or directory
g++: error: itpp-config --libs: No such file or directory

Does anyone have an idea on what to do next?

Aren't those supposed to be backtics ( ` ) rather than single quotes?
g++ `itpp-config --cflags` -o test1 test1.cpp `itpp-config --libs`
