compatibility pb: JOnAS on Red Hat 7.3?

I need to install JOnAS on a linux plaform Red Hat (ver 7.3) and I've got two questions about it.

1) The Red Hat version used is old, Do I have to use an old version of JOnAS or any would work?

2) The goal is to create web services. Is Tomcat necessary with Jonas in this case?
