command line to open a second telnet session


On my ubuntu 9.10 pc i am not running a GUI.
Every thing is run from command line.

How do i start a second telnet session from command line.
Plus can i have 4 telnet session open and move from one to the next and back again.

You could either use screen, or log in to a second virtual terminal.

About telnet
For each and every opened terminal you can logon to telnet !

if in run level three telinit 3 comand line. so you want another virtual console. linux will go up to 64 tty at least mine does. the question is. if in tty0 or tty1 how do I start another tty. Alt F2 login. then you want to start another Alt F3 at any time you can switch back and forth by pressing Alt - plus the F-number.
Is that what you are asking. I can login as root on tty2 then start a tty3 and login as a user then switch back and forth. and for xorg.server run level 4 learn the alt F1 and alt F12

I can login with same user name from multiple terminals.
Only the output device tty values is changed.
