Command line/ command prompt
Hello everyone,
Please help me i want to know where to find the command line/prompter, to install programs and drivers for my system Regards |
If you log into text mode, you are already in the command line interface. If you log into KDE, GNOME or any other window manager, you need to search for apps such as konsole, gnome-terminal or xterm from your menu.
|
saiinch: what are you trying to install? Note that most things you'll need are already installed or come in packet-managers.
|
try package manager first as sugguested.
if in kde, click the star "start" button -->run command --->type in the word "konsole" (minus the "") it is also probly in the file listing |

Are you logged in as root? If you aren't, open the command line (terminal window) as suggested, then type
su and enter the root password when asked. After that, you should be able to install pretty much anything you want. If you still get errors, please post the error messages. |
