Command failed: Can't get device information


hey guys! 'just wanna know what may be wrong with the ff command I was told to run into our system I am not that so familiar.
the idea is that I have to open an encrypted file from the server but resulting into --
'Command failed: Can't get device information'
the command i was told to type were --
$ sudo /sbin/cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/Volgroup00/<ENCRYPTED_VOLUME> <mount_point>

any suggestions? thanks in advance!
