Com port usage
Hello.
I have many game machine emulators on my debian system and I enjoy them thoroughly, I also have I sega megadrive game pad that plugs into the com port on the pc. It would be really good if I could play the games with this pad. I want to write or get a small program that will activate the com port so it can read the signals from the pad. Where do I start? Many Thanks for your help |
Support for many of the old gamepads is included in the Linux kernel, and the kernel documentation shows how to wire them to the parallel port:
http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Docum...ck-parport.txt Even though the connector may be similar, trying to connect the gamepad directly to the serial port isn't going to work without additional circuitry. |
