Color Issues on DVD Playback in Ubuntu 12.04.1
I am trying to switch over from XP to Ubuntu 12.04.1. I loaded the program onto a formatted hard drive as the sole operating system. I am slowly learning how to get all the software loaded that I need, and have Movie Player and VLC Media Player Loaded. Everything loads up, but the playback of the DVD is blue-tinted, and the colors are off. The display on other media looks good. I tried to load my drivers with Wine, but it always errors out. I have been unable to locate Color Profile files to adjust the color. Is there a group of files that can be downloaded? Or is it possible that I am missing system files? I have done "clean" and "update" procedures several times. ANy suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you,

wine is ONLY a windows emulator
it will run most WINDOWS programs

A linux Operating System (OS) can NOT use the WINDOWS drivers in wine

ONLY windows programs can use windows programs in wine

as in you can NOT use the Microsoft Windows Operating System drivers on a Linux Operating System ( some exceptions but NOT using wine)

it is like trying to put a engine part for a Toyota car on a GM truck engine
it will not work

do you have a Nvidia or ATI 3d card
or is this a laptop
or a Desktop BUT USING a pseudo 3d laptop "chip" on the desktop
( not using a full 3d card)

years ago there was a Nvidia "blue" issue , but that was mainly for on line videos( YouTube) and not from Store bought DVD's
