Post Collection of Linux Shell Commands for Beginners

Here is an article listing 40 basic shell commands for Linux Noobs.

Linux has more than 650 commands and every command has its own set of options all performing different operations. Going through each and every one of these commands will be a very tedious task. However limiting yourself to only a few of them is never an option. The trick here to learning all these commands, is to categorise them according to their function. By doing this, you will know atleast the basic commands and have some measure of control over the Linux command line.

When you go through these commands, you will be able to perform different function as per your need in the Linux command line.

Basic Commands
User Account
Network Commands
Archive Commands
Help Commands
Package Management Utilities
Process Commands

External forum or web log promotion aka spam is not appreciated.

LQ is a friendly forum with a large userbase. Usage is free for all. Because it is free some therefore people think that they may abuse that hospitality by using it to promote their products, forum or web log for free. That is not the case and it is not appreciated. Next to that these posts are the first two and only posts you've made on LQ sofar and you have not provided reciprocal links to LQ on your website. So apparently you only have the intention to leech for your own benefit.
Things don't work that way.

Do not do that again.

Post reported.
