Codec problem with Totem Movie player
I was wondering where I can find the codec necessary to play .mpg videos or how to install them

Here's one way: http://fedorasolved.org/multimedia-s...s/win32-codecs
You might also find adding this package RPM Fusion of benefit for installing applications not included by default in Fedora. |
also you can look here
DangerMouse's AutoTen is the easiest way http://www.dnmouse.org/autoten.html or http://www.dnmouse.org/codecs.html and of course there is Mjm http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...l#mediaplayers http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...l#binarycodecs http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...a-f10.html#yum |
install vlc instead....it plays everything...

So does totem, if you install the various gstreamer-plugins. But VLC is great, too. I still prefer (S)MPlayer, though, it feels more "convenient" to me.
