Codec problem with Totem Movie player

I was wondering where I can find the codec necessary to play .mpg videos or how to install them

Here's one way: http://fedorasolved.org/multimedia-s...s/win32-codecs

You might also find adding this package RPM Fusion of benefit for installing applications not included by default in Fedora.

also you can look here
DangerMouse's AutoTen is the easiest way
http://www.dnmouse.org/autoten.html
or
http://www.dnmouse.org/codecs.html
and of course there is Mjm

http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...l#binarycodecs
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...a-f10.html#yum

install vlc instead....it plays everything...

So does totem, if you install the various gstreamer-plugins. But VLC is great, too. I still prefer (S)MPlayer, though, it feels more "convenient" to me.
