Unhappy codec and other ways seem not to be working!


please help me guys,
i got to kubuntu site and downloaded codec for restricted formats but till was unable to play video .
if you could please guide me.
thank you

It would help if you gave us more info, like what type of codec you are trying to play, what website you downloaded codecs from etc.

The easiest way to get your codecs and other non-free stuff installed in one of the *buntus is to install and run Easy Ubuntu.

Under Debian, I found it the easiest ever:

Check this page for a mirror closest to you. So, for the w32codecs we would do this:

# apt-get install w32codecs
