cloning
 

hello all i am new user of linux i have installed linux on one pc and then i make image of this pc with symentic ghost 11 and before making hard disk image it tells me that linux partitions clone as physical drive and you need to make changes in boot and fstab.
But i make the image and when i clone this image on another pc and after successfull cloning when my pc restart it halts in grub> please let me know how will i boot in linux now on 2nd pc and also guide me how i will make image of linux hard drive of 250gb on 160gb or vice versa.Tell me best tool for image creation

You cloned the entire drive on one PC and then tried to boot it on another PC, correct?
If the drive you cloned was the first drive on computer one, it will need to be the first drive on computer two if you make no changes to boot files.

Is this something permanent? Are you going to leave the cloned drive in the 2nd computer?
Which distribution of Linux are you using?

i have 350gb of hard drive sata on which i have installed redhat 5.4 and then i make complete hard drive image with symentic ghost 11 and same image i deploy on 80gb sata and image cloned successfully but when restart i remove 350gb hard drive now i want to boot my pc from 80gb sata and when start it just go to grub> and system not going forward.

if i will use another hard drive of 350gb will it work or not.
which tool is best for making image of complete hard drive and then later use that image on another hard drive

once again i will be thankful if guide me.
