CLI commands don't work in mandrake


I am attempting to type in some CLI commands such as 'ifconfig' 'netconf' and I keep getting the message 'command not found'. Help!!

well....DUH !!! I figured out I have to be logged in as root to execute CLI commands....thanks for being patient with this nub

not only do you have to be logged in as root you also have to execute roots profile.

su vs. su -

if you know the path you could have also run /sbin/ifconfig
