ClarkConnect 3.2

I have an old server that has ClarkConnect 3.2 installed. Currently it freezes after a few minutes running. So I am trying to "repair" it to recover the stuff on it, keep getting some kind of "kernel error" so I was thinking a reinstall may help so I can retrieve the files on it. I cannot find where to download this. Does anyone know where I can download ClarkConnect 3.2 or have an idea how to repair this server?
Thanks,
Craig

Not keen on keeping up to date ?. According to wikipedia the last version of that was V5.0 released in 2009. Now morphed into ClearOS.

I wouldn't be trying to re-install anything - depending on your layout, that may blow all your data away. Get a liveCD of some sort and have a look around your system - see what is still recoverable and pull that off.
You might be lucky.

"Not keen on keeping up to date ?." Love it! But this is an old server that has been offline for years. Not long ago I remembered that I have stuff on it that I wish to keep, I just wish to get it up and running long enough to do that.
Back up, back up? Yes, I'm very guilty of not doing that.

No one takes backups until they figure out they should have.
I guess you have good news and bad news. The good news is the disk is still readable (the kernel and initrd got fetched), the bad news is you don't know what's wrong. Could be filesystem, could be hardware.
Was the server properly shutdown before its hiatus ?. If so maybe the filesystem is ok.

Like I said, use another machine to get a liveCD that has the tools you need - say systemrescueCD. Where you might have a problem is mounting the filesystem - if it is dirty, a fsck will be run automatically. That may also be the case if you were able to get the system itself going.
Basically you are going to have to risk it - or you could clone the disk onto another and play with the copy if the data is really valuable.

Thanks for your post syg00, you reminded me of what I did years ago. I tried to clone it several times using a live CD and different software each time. I never was successful as the machine would not stay running long enough to finish or the software would just stop working. Based on that and a couple recent new problems, I think I have a hardware problem.

AHA! Just found 2 capacitors on the motherboard that are swollen. Time to replace it then hope it will boot and run OK. Hopefully I can find the exact same motherboard somewhere.

Why not just pull the disks out and stick it/them in another machine ?. Presuming you only want the data, and it isn't in some proprietary format ...

I have 4 drives setup in a RAID 5 configuration on a 3Ware PCI card. I suppose I could pull it all and put it in a different machine but I'm not sure.
The "data" that I want is all the galleries that I have set up so I really need the machine up and running. Then I can clone it for a backup. After that I'll see about updating the OS.

Better find out why (and when) it's failing then. Remove the "quiet" and "rhbg" from the boot entry so you can see all the messages. Take a photo when it dies.
If you can mount the disk from a liveCD or chroot into it have a look at /var/log for any saved syslog. For something that old you'll just have to look around.
Presuming your system isn't on the RAID, a re-install should be safe enough if you had to - after backing up that RAID set.

Got the new motherboard in and now it's back up and running just fine. First ting I did is make a backup and stored that in a safe place. Now I need to see about updating the OS. Thanks to all.
