CIFS - wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on

im trying to mount a cifs share and in turn add it to the /etc/fstab...
but im getting this error ....

Code:

[root@dingo ~]#  mount -t cifs -o credentials=/root/.cifscredentials //192.168.x.x/d$ /root/folder
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //192.168.1.90/e$,
      missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
      dmesg | tail  or so

[root@dingo ~]# echo $?
32

I can mount the share when i add the credentials within the command rather then use a file...

Any Ideas....

How come you have 'd$' in your mount command but 'e$' in your error?
Have you tried changing your share-name to so something that doesn't have a $ in it?

That must be a typo as my share is e$. Any ideas on how i can resolve this ?

Change the share name to 'e' or 'edrive' and try that...
I wouldn't use $ signs in *nix unless I was referencing a variable.
The shell might be trying to extrapolate it.
