hi is there a version of chrome browser for linux???????

Not yet, if I'm right. Probably will come later..but I hope they'll first make it better and release only then; people tend to have huge expectations from things like that, and if they're served half-baked, all they get is angry cries.

I agree with b0uncer. I think they should have perfected or improved the program significantly before making a release. At the moment in Windows we only have BETA versions anyway.

If you're really eager, you can subscribe to their mailinglist announcement when the Linux version is to be released.

I don't understand why anyone wants to let google have more access to them than it already has. The amount of information that google already has about anyone that uses google is frightening. Why give them another "in"?

I'm not looking forward to it that much, but then again, at the same time I am enthusiastic about what idea they can come up with this time.

And Firefox, with each great release (not to take anything away from it), is becoming slower.... But I'm still happy with Firefox thus far.

I'm just interested to see what Google has to offer. Doesn't mean I'll end up using it though. But good point, maybe we wouldn't want to let Google collect more information on us than what they already have.

I'll probably give it a try, but I'm happy with Firefox. The one feature I am interested in is the "every tab gets its own process", but I can see that running away with my ram, as I like to have several tabs open at once.

Even if it were available for Linux, which it currently is not, I would think twice before using it for daily tasks, and especially for sensitive tasks (paying bills online, etc.).

Has any one used chrome yet?.

You can compile it or if your on Debian there is a deb package. It crashes worse than windowsME though so be warned.
