Chmod a+x

There is a certain program which i want to make executable. When i gave ls-l for the folder it is contained in i got this

Code:

-rw------- 1 asus asus    6567 2011-06-03 22:07 sysprobe
I tried
Code:

>su
>chmod a+x sysprobe

But still, permissions haven't changed. I got the same as above when i gave ls-l again.

Never mind.Solved the problem. Apparently, the file was residing on a FAT32 system and so I couldn't change permissions.
