chipset drivers for GA-h61m-D2h gigabyte motherboard


Hi Team,

i am facing problem in installing linux on newely purchased motherboard which is (GA-h61m-D2h gigabyte motherboard) it start asking chipset driver while installation so please send me links to download the chipset drivers for this motherboard to run linux so that i continue my work. I appriciate your help toward this.

Any recent Linux version should support this mainboard out of the box. Which distro in which version do you try to install?

I am using RHEL 5 for installation and one thing i want to told you that i have check the sites of gigabyte for this but they are saying that these drivers can be provided by the vendor or third party but i am not able to find them on net. so please send me the link from where i can download these drivers. and i will try to download higher version.

At least some versions of RHEL 5.X would be too old to support intel iX CPUs and iX chipsets.

If you arent paying for support with RHEL, you probably shouldnt be using it. Use CentOS instead.

If you are paying for support, you can ask Red Hat.
