Cheese Camera Trouble
 

Hello my name is giovanni i have been having some trouble with my cheese camera.I try to open it then it closes down by itsfelf.I then used gstreamer-properties in the terminal to check what was going on,then this came up at first gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'artsdsink'
gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'glimagesink'
gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'sdlvideosink'
gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'v4lmjpegsrc'
gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'qcamsrc'
gstreamer-properties-Message: Skipping unavailable plugin 'esdmon'
I wasn't worried at first then the multimedia systems selector popped out.I checked the default input the plugin was video for linux 2(v4l2).I clicked test and then this came out libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Device or resource busy
Segmentation fault.I am now lost ive checked forums to see what it meant but found no specific anwser for my problem.I ould appreciate a anwser to fix my problem.

thats from my computer
look at the top of your computer screen to make sure you do not have any other programs open like skype some chat programs will stop the cam from coming on

did you set the plugin to auto find the cam

if it still does not come on try this program if you use the 32bit wxcam

you can get it in a deb file

First thank you for replying.Second of all when you said did you set the plugin to auto find the cam I did change the plugin to the other options and 2 others didn't work and one did but then I opened my camera again and it didn't work.I downloaded the wxcam and I used my package Installer to install it but I got a error message Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libwxbase2.8-0 (>= 2.8.11.0)should i use another version?and if i do can you give me a link to fix it.

just try a different deb file

I didint find another one theres only that one any other suggestions

i had to try an older 1 like 1.0.6 on this computer 1.5.0 on the other 1 both systems have 10.04 on them
