You could check the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) linked on the LQ sidebar, but it's by no means authoritative, because it depends on volunteers.
There is also the Open Printing Database, but I don't know how they are on scanners.

You could also post the make
and model of the scanner here; there's good chance that someone at LQ has some experience with it.
