Checking before I run - Cups - foo2oak

Hello Hello..

I have a HP Colour Laserjet 1500L.
Connected via USB.
On Mandrake 9.2

Have never installed a printer before.
Using Cups gui to setup I hit one problem....

In the add printer wizard it asks me where the printer is.
Can I just say /dev/usb ?
I have 6 usb ports, with the printer attached to the 2 provided
by the S-braket because it's in the PCI slots and low enough for the
cable to reach without buying a new one.

Reading up on this it appears I need to install the printer
(duh!...but not really... )
-------------------
$ lpstat -d
no system default destination
-------------------

I have found this site
http://foo2oak.rkkda.com/

which offers to install this proggie
foo2oak

Before I moved foward I, thought I'd check in here first
for feedback / advice. :Pengy:

Thanks
Dobie.

after checking linuxprinting, and turboprint, it appears as if the foo2oak may be your best bet. turboprint doesn't list the printer, and linuxprinting calls it a paperwieght, w/a link to the foo2oak site. i'd try the foo2oak, for what it's worth.
good luck.
