Changing the Look and Feel in Control Center
(I'm pushing that saying...The only dumb question is the one never asked....)
I saw this dandy link to change the look of my desktop and spicer her up a bit. http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=10866 Here is the install... How to install a theme/style Install the Theme/Style by either extracting and compiling it, or installing an RPM. Open the KDE-Menu and start the Control Center. Select "Look and Feel". Select "Style" if the package you installed was a style, or select "Theme Manager" if the package you installed was a theme. Select your theme or style. Click "Apply" Have fun! :-) So I got to the Look and Feel but I don't know if it is a Theme or Style? I tried to add it but I was looking for the name of of it but it wasn't in the list in Theme/Style. Not sure where to go from here. |
it is downloaded as a rpm so just try
rpm -ivh 10866-thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk.i386.rpm and then try going to the control center and look and feel. Check and see if that does the trick. Actually, on mandrake it may be urpmi -ivh 10866-thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk.i386.rpm. not too sure about that one |
Couldn't get it to work. Here is what is says....
[root@h00a0cc5fd9d3 Coop]# rpm -ivh 10866-thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: libaudio.so.2 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk libfontconfig.so.1 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk libkdecorations.so.1 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk libXcursor.so.1 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk libXft.so.2 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk libXinerama.so.1 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk libXrandr.so.2 is needed by thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk [root@h00a0cc5fd9d3 Coop]# urpmi -ivh 10866-thinkeramik-3.0.2-1mdk.i386.rpm urpmi: unknown option "-ivh", check usage with --help Anything else to try? |
try going to rpmseek or google and finding what supplies those files. they are prob devel files. and just start installing them. I don't recall mandrakes package manager but it is likely that the needed files are in there.
