Changing the Desktop Appearance

Hi, I have just able to install my new Linux Mandrake 9.2 on my computer. I am now trying to configure a few things. I need to change the desktop resolution to be 1024*768. (It is in 800 x 600 now). How do I change it? I have go to the 'configure desktop' menu, but it didnt show anything regarding changing the resolution, as well as the colour resolution (to be 24 bit from 65k colour?)

Any help and advice would be greatly appreaciated

If you are using kde its in the mandrake control center.
Start->System->Configuration->Configure your computer , at least on mine thats it.
