changing the default search engine in mozilla

I'd like to change the default search engine in Mozilla. Opening edit, preferences, navigator, internet search gives me a google option, but this is google.com; I'd like google.co.uk.

Does anyone know how to change this and/or add more options to the list in preferences?

Many thanks, reetep.

you cannot just write it down can you?i'm using Mozilla firebird now, so i forgot the stuff from mozilla - by why don't you download firebird? it's really great browser, it has 100s of extensions (read: plugins), among which lots with search engine options...

type about:config in the url entry line and search around for browser.search.defaulturl. right click it, select modify and enter your info.

Thanks for those suggestions, they're great. I'm not so hot at installing new applications so I thought I'd give the second suggestion a try.

I'm having problems even doing that though! I don't seem to be able to modify the value in about:config as described. Right clicking, right double clicking, left clicking and left double clicking produce no result. Middle clicking opens my home page.

Any ideas? Many thanks, reetep.
