Changing the Appearance of the Scroll Bar

I have a continuing problem in seeing the scroll bar. White on white is tough for me. I can find nothing in System Settings that addresses the scroll bar, in any way. Does anybody here know how to make the scroll bar more visible? Ubuntu 13.10. Thank you.

What is your theme? Ambiance?
Are you using gtk2? or gtk3?
Have you installed classic Desktop or you are using unity?

OR

You can install gnome-color-chooser
Quote:

sudo apt-get install gnome-color-chooser
I have used this upto ubuntu 12.04, it should be worked on ubuntu 13.10 too.
When you open it, there is a tab name 'specific'. Under scroll bars section, you can change color of scroll bar. Click on Apply.

gnome-color-chooser is good but i'm pretty sure it won't work on gtk3 or unity.

dzhonz, make a copy of a theme you like and start hacking away on the config files, changing some colors. they usually are pretty self-explanatory.

Wow. I am still learning the Linux system. It appears that I need to bone up quite a bit. Thanks all. It may be a while until I figure out if these hints are helpful.

...or just try a different theme.

Thanks, ondoho, changing the theme was a very quick fix.
