Changing Monitor - Ubuntu - Please Help

Hi,

I am a newbie to Ubuntu. I have a Hanns-G flat-screen monitor hooked up to the system which has Ubuntu running. When i change the monitor, the new monitor does not display anything - it stays blank ?!? I tried with 2-3 monitors, everything stays blank. Please help me as to what should i do to make the new monitor work with Ubuntu ?!

Thanks in advance.

Move the mouse and get it off screen saver hehehe

somtimes screens staying blank can be due to screen resolution issues or something similar, or drivers are installed for your other monitor and not your new one, try fail safe mode i dont know ubuntu but i'd guess it has one and then see if you can see anything? Try setting the hardware settings to use a standard vesa driver works for almost anyrthing and test that
