changing language to spanish with gnome and debian

Hi people,

I installed debian+gnome in the old computer of my mother. Now I have to switch it from English to Spanish.

looking in the forums, I am supposed to do

gnome-menu -> System -> Admin -> language support

to change to spanish

also I should install



1. I dont find that menu. can somebody please tell me which is the console version of that command. It is possible a but that I dont find the menu in debian


apt-get install language-pack-es language-pack-es-base
does not work

What should I do then?

your package is gnome-language-pack-es...


Install synaptic for a GUI and select ...

#apt-get update
#apt-get install synaptic
