Changing icons!
If I make my own custom launcher on my desktop or my panel, I am not able to change its icon, other than those icons that are in the pixmaps folder. How can I either add icon files in my pixmap folder or get root access to change the icons by clicking on my customized lancher and change it by browsing through other files and folders?
Thanks!

You can use your own icons. I assume you are using GNOME. When you see the dialogue box that shows the icons in your pixmaps folder, just browse to (or enter the directory) where you custom icons are located. Once thats done, your customs icons will show up in the dialogue box and you can click on the one you wish to use.

Yes, well, it's at that point I get the message that I don't have any access to them, not just that; they are also faded out-- impossible to mark them...
