Changing horizontal screen position
Hi, I am having great fun with Linux, just installed Fluxbox, but I would like some help on changing the screen position. The problem is that on Linux the screen is shifted to the left, and on Xp (which I use for the Internet) the screen is in a normal position.

What I have tried is shifting the position on my monitor, but then that gives me the problem of the screen being shifted over on the other OS, and vice versa.

Is there some way of shifting the screen in Linux (RedHat 9)?

(Can't change it with XP as far as I know, tried doing something on an Nvidia menu but it rubbished up my icons)

Check out which resolution and refresh-rate you
run in eXPeriment, and then try to set it in X.

i had the same problem and i had to set a modeline in XF86Config-4.
run xvidtune then adjust the screen position with the Right or Left button. click on apply and exit.
then running again xvidtune --show will give you the modeline. add it in the "Monitor" section of your XF86Config (or XF86Config-4).
